1-Minute Fixes

Although it might sound cheesy, smile a good smile can flip your mood from frowning anger to a joyous laugh.

Start jumping. Don’t hesitate in activating those endorphins and making more of them. Do whatever it takes, then be it a skipping rope or jumping jacks. Forget about judgments.

Get a fresh scent. Inhaling the odor of orange (or essential orange oil) or lavender can help you lighten up the mood and release anxiety.

Recenter to the present. Studies have shown that it is best to stay joyful and happy by visiting in the present regardless of being not palatable. However, on the other hand, daydreaming and overthinking would not help much. What we say meditation in some cultures is the best way to do so. Close your eyes and focus on deep breathing, follow the movements in and out for a few minutes, and you undoubtedly feel better.

Count your blessings. You must show gratitude and gratefulness for what you have. A decent way is to make a list of the blessings; even if you can’t complete it in time, it will be of great help.

Tried everything and still stuck amid negativity? Just chill and allow yourself some time to adjust. You can’t force yourself to feel something; let it come from within.
