Are you struggling to keep in shape? Well, most of us are. Even then, we may find a few people who consume as many calories as they want and are still in shape. They don’t need to put in efforts like us to maintain that hourglass figure. No, not everybody is gifted with such qualities in their genes. Some people need to make extra efforts and adapt to healthy habits to stay in shape.

1. Love your exercise

Every day if you have to struggle to get out of bed for exercise, you are not doing the right exercise. For instance, if you dread every minute of the workout and are doing it just because your guide asked you to do it, DON’T! This exercise wouldn’t benefit you if you don’t want to do it. Just try different exercises and choose the one that you really enjoy.

This doesn’t mean that you need an exercise that lifts your mood and gets you excited. Infact, this means that you should do exercises that aren’t heavy for your body and make you feel relaxed.

2. Say ‘no’ to diet

You need to learn what your body wants. Choose food that keeps you energized throughout the day and helps you look fit. It is better to adopt a nutritional diet plan that you can stick to as per your body’s needs.

3. Start practicing yoga or Pilates

If we look at the statistics, in the last five years, Japan has witnessed a 413% growth rate in Yoga. In the world, 94% of people do yoga for wellness-related reasons. Further, the Seattle Yoga News states that 72% of women are yoga practitioners. These figures tell us the popularity with which people are accepting Yoga.

What is the reason behind this? This is because yoga and Pilates prevent injury and also help you maintain your body shape. Yoga releases muscular tension that is caused due to workout whereas Pilates helps to recover the damaged parts in your skeleton. These gentle exercises provide longevity to your workout and keep you in shape for a long period of time.

4. Sleep

No, sleep doesn’t make you lazy. Instead, it gives you sufficient energy for your workout. If you sleep daily for a minimum of 7-8 hours daily, you’ll observe your body has all the required energy to work out the next day.

Sleep enhances your metabolism, repairs your damaged muscles and boosts energy. Adequate sleep is essential to stay healthy.

5. Keep your hopes high

Exercising is a rigorous process and bringing your body into shape might take a while. During this time, maintain your patience. Exercise with a positive mindset. Your body is connected to your mind. It immediately understands if you’re doing this forcefully.

Stay motivated. If needed, hang around with fitness-conscious people who are also striving to maintain their shape. When you talk to them, you’ll get motivated and would love to exercise more. Maintain a ‘I can do it’ attitude and don’t quit. Every problem has a solution. If you don’t like your current exercise, change the exercise but keep working out.
