Planning a wedding might sound like a lot of fun, and it certainly can be – in fact, it should be. However, there is a serious side, and it’s crucial you factor this in and ensure you’re planning just the kind of day you want. With that in mind, here are some things to consider if you want to plan the perfect wedding.
Budget
Before you can do anything else, you need to consider your wedding budget. Where will the money come from to pay for your nuptials, and how much can you afford? Answering these two questions will ensure you don’t book things that are too expensive, and that you can be comfortable with the money you’re spending.
Everyone is different, and while some will want an all-out extravagant wedding, others will prefer something much simpler. Often this will depend on budget, which is why you need to do your calculations before you start shopping around and getting any ideas.
The good news is that you can have a beautiful wedding even if your budget is small; you can hire a wedding dress, for example, and you can organize a potluck when it comes to food. There are many ways to create a perfect wedding, but overspending is not one of them.
Think About The Bigger Items
There are dozens of little things that go towards creating the ideal wedding, from flowers to cars to decorations, and so much more. However, there are some big things that you need to put in place first. These include finding a unique wedding venue and getting the catering organized, for example. If you’re buying a dress, that can also be included.
Once you have these points in place – the things that will take up the majority of your budget and give you a date to work to – you can start thinking about the other details. If you do it the other way around, you might find you run out of money before you can hire somewhere to host the wedding, and that would be a disaster.
Think About The Guest List
Something else you’ll need to know about before you can confirm your bookings and make a number of purchases is the guest list. You’ll have to have some idea of the numbers of people expected at your wedding so that you can organize enough food, a big enough venue, and perhaps even transport.
Send out save the date cards as soon as you have a date confirmed and this will give you a good idea of the numbers – although whenever booking something, always add a contingency or five percent or so, just in case. Make sure that when you send the invitations there is an RSVP date, so you can confirm the numbers when you need to.
