Education
The first thing you need to do before you think of ever becoming an architect is education. You need to be at the top of your grades for most parts to even qualify for the course. There are three different architecture degrees that you can choose from. BArch – this is Bachelor of Architecture, and this one requires you to have at least 150 credit hours in studies. These are professional studies and electives too.
MArch – this the Master of Architecture, and it requires you to have at least 168 credit hours. Thirty of those credit hours need to be of graduate level. You can pursue this degree program after the completion of the BArch.
Durch – the Doctor of Architecture-you, you get this after 120 undergrad credit hours and then need to add another 90 graduate credit hours.
Experience
Before you can become a fully-fledged architect, you need to have some experience that backs you up. You need to start calling around for an entry level position. There’s an IDP focused on helping you get the relevant experience to become a fully-fledged architect. The program is quite efficiently used for those who are still studying to become architects. The program is quite thorough, and by the end of it, the student will have the necessary experience to work in different architecture setups.
