The Handicap limit of Old Vilamoura is equal to M 28 / F 28. Set your eyes on one of the Algarve’s most enduring golf courses. This Frank Pennink-designed course gently undulates through the principal hazard – pine trees – and is regarded as one of the region’s oldest. It’s a one-of-a-kind course. The par three 4th hole is the most picturesque on the course since it plays over the sole water hazard. An umbrella pine and three bunkers also guard the green! Old Laguna, Vilamoura
It has Par (72), a length equal to 6,102m, and was designed by Sir Henry Cotton. Vilamoura has a Parkland-type course with Putting/practice green (Y) and a Driving range (Y). The Handicap limit is M 34 / F 36 for these resorts. Set your eyes on the legendary Sir Henry Cotton’s most recent course. Rolling fairways and raised greens are created by incorporating the surrounding scenery. It’s located just outside the picturesque village of Alvor and offers a rewarding round for golfers of all abilities. The 555-yard par five 16th, dubbed “Sir Henry’s Challenge” because it was previously Europe’s longest hole, is an actual test. Keep to the right to avoid the pond on the left side of the road. Pestana Vila Sol, Vilamoura
Vila Sol has Par equal to 73 with a 6,393m length. Donald Steel is the designer of this Parkland course which has y putting grass and a driving range. The Handicap limit of Old Vilamoura is equal to M 34 / F 36. This is an example of a typical Algarve inland structure. This 27-hole course snakes its way through pine and fig trees, with a few lakes thrown in for good measure. The system has hosted the Portuguese Open twice, so it’s pretty amazing! The par-3 seventh hole necessitates a risky approach over water. If you strike the safety of the back, with the slope running towards the front, the narrow green makes for a tricky putt. Pestana Alto, Vilamoura
It has Par (72), a length equal to 6,651m, and was designed by Sir Henry Cotton. This Vilamoura has a Links course with Putting/practice green (Y) and Driving range (Y). The Handicap limit is M 24 / F 36 for these resorts. The Victoria layout opened in 2004 and has hosted the Portugal Masters since 2007. The Championship course is a severe test, with several water hazards that blend in with the wetland environment. The beautiful lakes on the system create an idyllic setting for a play of golf. The par five 12th hole is the most difficult of the 18 holes, with a big lake to the left and a bunker to the right flanking the fairway.
