The staff has a max hit of 38 when at 99 Magic, assuming you have the maximum Magic bonuses. The built-in spell that the staff offers helps to set this staff apart from others.
Sanguinesti Staff
A similar staff to the one above is the Sanguinesti Staff. Their similarities lie in the stats that they have to offer, as well as the attack and defence bonuses. What does set it apart however is the passive effect that it has. There is a chance that you can heal yourself of half the amount of damage you inflict on your enemy when you hit them with this weapon. To get this staff, you will have to hope for a rare drop from the Theatre of Blood.
A very effective staff indeed, but also an expensive one. The problem for this staff is that it is charged with blood runes. These make the weapon very costly to use. To charge the staff entirely, you’re going to need 20,000 blood runes. This is another reason why players may choose to buy OSRS gold, as the cost of this is way over 22 million OSRS GP.
Harmonized Nightmare Staff
This staff really does pack a punch, which is why you not only need level 75 Magic to wield it, but you need 50 Hitpoints too. This is a great choice for PvP due to the sheer speed that it has to offer. As a matter of fact, it is one of the fastest weapons in the whole game, though it does come at a cost. To get one you first must obtain the Nightmare Staff, and then combine it with a Harmonized Orb to get the Harmonized Nightmare Staff.
The downside is the cost. Sure, it boasts +16 magic attack, along with a +15% magic strength bonus, but it has an insane price attached to it. Out of all the OSRS items for sale that you may find on this list, this is the most expensive. You’re looking at prices of nearly 850m OSRS gold for a weapon like this.
Kodai Wand
The Kodai Wand is considered by many to be the best magic weapon that’s available in Old School Runescape. You’ll need to be at level 75 Magic to use it, but once you’re there you can enjoy magic attack bonuses of +28, defence bonuses of +20 and magic strength bonuses of +15% as well. It is hard to get a hold of though, since you need a Kodai Insignia from the Chamber of Xeric. If you do manage to get this very rare drop, then you’ll need to combine it with a Master Wand as well.
What really makes this weapon stand out is its ability to auto cast both normal and ancient spell books. You will also gain as many water runes as you need from it, so casting ice spells shouldn’t be an issue for you.
From a price point of view, you aren’t looking at the crazy pricing of the Sanguinesti Staff, but you’re still going to have to pay around 86m OSRS gold for it. When considering what the weapon is capable of, it’s understandable as to why it is that expensive. Some may see it as a small price to pay when you’re wielding arguably the best magic weapon in OSRS.
But there are some prices out there as you’ll have seen from this list that are going to be beyond many players. If you do manage to get a hold of that amount of OSRS GP, then at least you now have a better idea of which weapons you should be investing in.
